Day 1
NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport - Gangtok (120 km / 5 hrs)

On reaching IXB Airport / NJP Railway Station, you will be picked up and transferred to Gangtok (5,500 ft). On arrival, check in at the hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure. During your leisure time you can opt to visit cable car ride over the city, or lounge in the cafes and restaurants (all these are recommended activities and not included in the package). Have a good night's rest in Gangtok.

Day 2
Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

After breakfast, gear up for a visit to the beautiful Tsomgo Lake (or Changu Lake, 12,300 ft), followed by the Baba Mandir (13,120 ft), which is 55 km one way from Gangtok city. The glacial Tsomgo Lake is said to stay frozen during winters. It is a beautiful lake revered by the locals and a splendid sight to watch the changing colours of the lake every season. Baba Mandir is a shrine dedicated to the brave Indian Army soldier - Captain "Baba" Harbhajan Singh. After a soul-stirring day, stay overnight in Gangtok. (In case Tsomgo Lake is closed due to a landslide or some other reason, we will provide an alternate sightseeing).

Day 3
Gangtok - Pelling (150 km / 5 hrs)

After a sumptuous breakfast, start your journey towards Pelling (6,300 ft) via Char Dham. En-route, you will get to visit popular sites such as the Temi Tea Garden, Samdruptse Monastery (7,000 ft) and Siddheshwar Dham in Namchi. Temi Tea Garden in Temi is Sikkim's only tea garden and famed as the number one tea garden in our country as well as in the world! Samdruptse Monastery is situated on a hill and is home to a magnificent statue of Guru Padmasambhava, a saint of Sikkim. Siddheshwar Dham is a major pilgrimage site on Solophok hilltop, with a 108 ft tall Shiva statue, models of the Char Dham Hindu temples (Badrinath, Rameshwaram, Jagannath and Dwaraka), 12 Jyotirlingas' replicas and a statue of Kirateshwar (18 ft). On arrival in Pelling, check in at the hotel and relax. Have a good overnight stay.

Day 4
Pelling Sightseeing

Wake up to a beautiful morning amidst the misty mountains, have a delicious breakfast and go on a full day sightseeing tour. During the first half of the day, you will cover Khangchendzonga Waterfalls, Darap Village, Rimbi Waterfalls and Khecheopalri Lake (which is also a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site). Khangchendzonga Waterfalls is a splendid sight to see as it gushes down the hill amidst lush greenery. It is shaped by the fresh streams that are formed due to the melting glaciers of Mt. Khangchendzongha. Darap Village is a beautiful, peaceful village amidst the Himalayan belt, where you can get a glimpse of the rich culture of the local people (known as Limboos). The friendly locals also offer various activities to do here, such as trekking, bird-watching, cave visits, handicraft making etc. In the noon, your second half of the tour will cover Pemayangtse Monastery, the new helipad ground and Rabdentse Ruins. Then return to the hotel in Pelling and have a good night's sleep.

Day 5
Pelling - Darjeeling (80 km / 4 hrs)

This morning, after a refreshing breakfast, you will be transferred to Darjeeling (6,950 ft) via Singla check post. On arrival, check in at your hotel & have the day at leisure. You can go ahead and explore the town by visiting the colonial buildings, taking a toy train ride, trekking up to the Mahakal Temple and Darjeeling Observatory Hill and visiting the Peace Pagoda (all these are recommended activities and not included in the package). After a leisurely day, retreat for the night back at the hotel.

Day 6
Darjeeling Sightseeing

Wake up early and at around 4 AM, drive up to the Tiger Hill (8,400 ft) and treat your eyes to a breathtaking sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha. Standing at 28,208 ft, spanning over Nepal and Sikkim, it is the world's 3rd highest peak and promises to leave you in awe of its beauty. Then as you return, make a visit to Ghoom Monastery (a famous Buddhist monastery and one of the oldest of them in Darjeeling) and the Batasia Loop. After a refreshing breakfast, you will visit other places of interest such as the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Ropeway, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (closed on Sundays), Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), Tea Garden (outside view) and Japanese Temple. The evening is free for shopping/leisure. For shopping, you can go to the Mall Road, Chowk Bazaar, Nehru Road and Teesta Bazaar (4 km from the town) for buying souvenirs and various other goodies at cheap prices. After a fulfilling day, return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7
Darjeeling - NJP Rly Station / IXB airport (75 km / 3 hrs

After a filling breakfast, check out from the hotel and be transferred to NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport for your journey back home.

Gangtok

Nestled between the mighty peaks of the Himalayas, the city of Gangtok rises as a center for Tibetology and Tibetan Buddhist culture. It is the capital of the state of Sikkim in India and a popular destination for globetrotters. With its stunning views of Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world, this beautiful city gained prominence after the construction of Enchey Monastery. Today, Gangtok is home to many monasteries and educational institutions. The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Himalayan Zoological Park, Ganesh Tok, Enchey Gompa and White Memorial Hall, are few of the attractions in Gangtok. Another feature of the city, is that it acts as a gateway to other parts of the state. It is very easy to travel to the various places of interest in Sikkim from Gangtok like Tsomgo Lake, Yumthang Valley, Nathu La Pass, Pelling and more.

Pelling

Pelling is a lovely town nestled away in the Himalayas. It is a part of the district of North Sikkim, India. It is blessed with abundant natural beauty. The landscape is dotted with exotic waterfalls and lakes. The Changey, Rimbi and Khangchendzonga waterfalls, and the Khecheopalri Lake add to Pelling’s natural beauty, enticing nature lovers and trekkers alike. An interesting place to visit is the Pemayangtse Monastery that was constructed in 1705. Located close to the monastery is the Rabdantse Ruins, once the capital of Sikkim, it was razed to the ground by the Gurkhas who invaded the area. Another popular monastery in Pelling is the Sangachoeling Monastery, which was constructed in 1697. Also worth visiting is the Sewaro Rock Garden, which has now become a popular picnic spot. The town attempts to give urban dwelling tourists, a chance to experience the humble rural way of living by inviting them to partake in specific activities like milking a cow. Fishing is allowed at the Rimbi Falls so tourists who like fishing can try their hand at it. The Yuma meditation centre is a great place to not only learn the benefits of meditation but also to gain insight into the vibrant Hindu mythology.

Darjeeling

Lying amidst the slopes of the Lesser Himalayas and blanketed by emerald green plantations of tea, Darjeeling is a picturesque town in the Indian state of West Bengal. The majestic Kangchenjunga towers over this beautiful town, which is the third highest mountain in the world. Popularly known as the ‘Queen of the Hills’, Darjeeling provided stunning locations for many Bollywood movies including Barfi, Main Hoon Na and Aradhana. Developed by the British, the colonial era architecture can still be seen everywhere in Darjeeling. Tiger Hill offers a spectacular view of both Mount Everest and Mount Kangchenjunga. Lloyd’s Botanical Garden has a collection of several species of flora including oak, magnolia and bamboo. Go on an adventurous trek up to Sandakphu in Singalila Range, the highest peak in West Bengal and feast your eyes on the spellbinding panorama.
